Moving On from Shorecrest: Farewell to Mr. Fludd
After an eight year tenure as the School's first Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Mr. Roderick Fludd has shared his plans to make the 2024-2025 school year his last at Shorecrest. Starting in July 2025, Roderick will bring his talents to Greensboro Day School in Greensboro, NC where he has accepted the position as the school's Dean of Campus Life.
"Shorecrest has been my home away from home for eight wonderful years, and I'm proud of all that we have accomplished together as a community," reflects Roderick. "The move to North Carolina brings my wife and me closer to family, while also allowing me to continue my diversity work and expand into an even broader administrative role."
An Interim Director of Diversity & Inclusion, who will be supported by the division-level Diversity Coordinators, will be appointed for the 2025-2026 school year. "The Director of Diversity & Inclusion is an important role for our community," said Head of School Nancy Spencer. "Working with an Interim Director gives us time to reflect on the needs of our school and make the best decision for moving forward."
"Since his arrival at Shorecrest in 2017, Roderick has been an excellent colleague, a well-respected teacher/coach and an effective administrator, committed to making Shorecrest feel like home for all students," shared Nancy Spencer. "I know that we all wish Roderick well in his next endeavor and we will appreciate the remaining three months that we have with him."
Please join us in congratulating Roderick Fludd on his new position and thank him for his years of service to Shorecrest and to St. Petersburg.
