Chargers at State Swimming & Diving Championship 2023

Athletics Upper School News


Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Girls and Boys Swimming and Diving competed at the FHSAA 1A State Swimming & Diving Championship against 42 teams. At what is probably one of the fastest Swimming and Diving state meets in the country, the Chargers did an amazing job. The Boys were 15th (41 points), and the Girls were 16th (35 points). The Girls 400 Free Relay finished 16th and Boys 400 Free Relay finished 10th. 

"Shorecrest was well-represented by an incredible group of swimmers and diver and we are so proud of the individual and team accomplishments. Congratulations to our State Team!" shared an excited Coach Patty.

Finishing in top 8 on the medal podium were: Sasha Schratwieser '24 (8th - 500 Free), Izzy Riva '27 (7th - 100 Free) and Maddox Matyas '26 (7th - 500 Free). Izzy Riva '27 broke the 100 Free School Record with a 52.17 and Maddox Matyas '26 broke his record set earlier this season in the 200 Free with a 1:41.92!
