Seven members of Shorecrest's Global Scholars Initiative (GSI) attended an SRO presentation by Dr. Jane Goodall at USF's Sun Dome Tuesday evening. At 80 years of age, she remains an engaged and energetic lecturer as she shared aspects of her initial work with chimpanzees some 50 years ago. That led her to a broader concern for Africa's two-legged, four-legged, and natural resources. That, in turn, has led her to the focus of her current efforts: global sustainability.
She urged her audience to make informed decisions about lifestyle choices including food, clothing and purchases in general to reduce the impact of humans on the planet. We are grateful to the generosity of the Gibbons family for their role in making it possible for our students to attend!
