An Evening at the Orchestra Before Exams

Last Saturday, Band Director Mr. Updike and Upper School history teacher Mr. Heller chaperoned eight students to the season finale of The Florida Orchestra. The concert included Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor" and Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony. Mr. Michael Pastreich, the president of the orchestra and a Shorecrest parent, arranged for us to meet Dejan Lazic, the featured soloist of the Emperor Concerto.

Looking ahead, Mr. Updike and Mr. Heller would like to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the orchestra by inviting the Shorecrest community to attend a series of concerts next year. Information on this will be forthcoming.
