Students in Ms. Ekblad's Studies in Culture class, an Honors English elective, enjoyed an authentic Regency era tea party after reading Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice." Students wore original "costumes," baked authentic Regency era treats (scones!), and/or researched etiquette in preparation for the day. Additionally students were required to abide by Regency era codes of conduct during tea time, and called one another by selected English title aliases. Part of their prep was learning to recognize different flavors and varieties of tea.
