Battle of the Books Three-Peat Win

Team Shorecrest won first place at the Bay Area Association of Independent Schools (BAAIS) Battle of the Books Competition on May 1, 2018, for the third consecutive year in a row! Team Captain Duran V, Addy C, Akshay P, Max B and Sophia J collaborated and worked extremely well under pressure. Coach Tatelbaum said she is super proud of her hard-working lovers of reading. The students read 15 books (several times) from the Sunshine State Young Readers Award list beginning LAST summer. Then they beat two other fifth grade teams in a Shorecrest Battle to become the SPS team. They then beat 7 other teams to become the area champs!
Team Shorecrest was greeted back on campus by a Middle School cheering tunnel to run through. Everyone was so excited to learn that a third trophy would take up residence in Mrs. Tattlebaum's classroom.
