Fifth Grade STEAM Week and Food Festival, Nov. 16

Middle School News

The week of November 12-16, fifth grade students will take part in a special week of learning – the third annual Kinetic Sculpture Drop Everything & STEAM Week! STEAM stands for: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. During this week, all fifth grade students will be participating in facilitated STEAM lessons related to the topic of kinetic sculptures. Students will collaborate in small groups to solve science- and art-based challenges that mimic the structure and work of STEAM professionals in the real world.
  • On Friday November 16, from 1:30-2:15pm there will be a “gallery-walk” showcase of all students’ creations in the fifth grade classrooms in the Sher-Razook Center. Parents are invited to listen to their children explain the STEAM behind their sculptures.
  • Following this, fifth graders will celebrate the diverse cultures of the grade with an International Food Festival in the breezeway from 2:15-2:45pm.
Fifth grade parents can learn more on PowerSchool Learning. We hope to see you on Friday, November 16!
