Boys Varsity Track District Champions, Girls 3rd

On April 21, the Chargers track team travelled to Out of Door Academy for the Class 1A District 7 Championship Meet. The boys team finished as the overall winner, just 6 points ahead of runners-up, Northside Christian. The total team effort was the result of Coach Cameron's careful planning and strategizing - making sure that all spots in all events were filled with athletes who had a strong opportunity to score - as well as the amazing efforts and performances of the entire team!
Luke P. finished first in all 4 of his events - 4x800, 800M, 1600M, and 3200M. First year high jumper, senior Marcus B. was also a district champion in the high jump. Way to go Chargers!

The girls team finished 3rd overall, and had two relay teams and 3 qualify in individual events. Junior Olivia R. led the team as the District Champion in both the 800M and 1600M, Renice D. who finished 3rd in the long jump, and 8th grader Caroline W. who finished 4th in the 100M hurdles. Way to go girls!
This Thursday, all 24 regional qualifiers will compete at Calvary Christian in the Class 1A Region 2 Championship. Good luck to all as they continue their quest toward the State finals next week.

Congratulations to Patrick F., Kyle H., Jack L, and Josh K. While they did not qualify to move on to regionals in their events, they did score points that helped the team to its overall District Championship!
