Shorecrest School

Re-enroll for 2020-2021 School Year by Feb. 7

Upper School News

Dear Shorecrest Families:

Re-enrollment is a special time for all independent schools and it is especially important this year at Shorecrest. In six months our community will welcome Nancy Spencer as our new Head of School. Mrs. Spencer brings a rich background in independent education and will certainly add new energy to an already energized faculty, staff and community.

Shorecrest is once again the top-ranked independent school in Pinellas County and in the top 15 of all schools in Florida. Recently, Newsweek recognized our school as one of the top 500 STEM schools in the nation. During this time of growth and prosperity in Tampa Bay, it is no wonder there are waiting lists in many grades at our school.

There is also no wonder why we are a top-ranked school in our region and state. When one combines the talented and dedicated faculty and staff with the bright and engaged students at Shorecrest, it's the not-so-secret formula for success. Involved families support their children, teachers, coaches, and directors to create an environment where everyone wins. The recent success of our seniors with early decisions to universities, the achievements of our MS and US thespians, the incredible presentations by LS students in their project shares, and the amazing strides of learning and growth on display in the Experiential School are but a few of the ways our students and teachers are showing the value of a Shorecrest education.

In the coming year, Shorecrest will be preparing for our five-year accreditation. The process will give families and students the opportunity to share their feelings about what is currently offered and what community members want to see in the coming years. At Shorecrest we know we are preparing students to be accepted by and then to thrive in universities that will springboard them into careers and service that will strengthen their families and communities.

We believe that the school experience should be both enjoyable and intellectually challenging. We know that the social and emotional well-being and safety of our students is paramount. We understand that dynamic athletics, arts, and service programs strengthen communities and provide children with experiences they will use throughout their lives.

The 2020-2021 Shorecrest tuition and fees are updated on the Tuition page of shorecrest.org in preparation for online re-enrollment January 27 - February 7. Prompt registration allows us to manage teacher contracts and class size, and it reserves a space for your child in classes with waiting lists. Please submit the 2020-2021 re-enrollment forms by the February 7 deadline.

You will receive an email from the Enrollment Management and Admissions Office with the link to re-enroll on January 27 at 8am. You can also click the gold "Re-enrollment" tab at the top of the Shorecrest homepage anytime between January 27 and February 7.

This is a great time to be at Shorecrest. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, faculty, and staff we welcome you and your children to continue their education at Shorecrest. We are honored to partner with you during these exciting times for our school community.

Cheers!

Mike Murphy
Headmaster
