Shore to Shorecrest 5k Recap, Video
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in the Shore to Shorecrest 5k! What an incredible morning celebrating Shorecrest history and kicking off a new century of health, wellness, and the Chargers spirit.
We started the morning with the unveiling of an official historical marker made possible through the laborious efforts of Gerald Davis '81, Centennial Chair Chas Reynolds '81, and Ron Heller, and installed courtesy of Matt Thomas '95 of Thomas Signs. The marker was the event's starting point - at the School's original founding location at 1200 North Shore Dr NE.
After running / walking / strolling to 5101 First St NE, participants were awarded their Shore to Shorecrest medals, then walked to the Gaffney Green to enjoy homemade pancakes courtesy of the Shorecrest Dads Group. An energetic group of our youngest Chargers, 8 and under, sped down Charger Blvd in the Sparky Sprint.
Special thanks to our presenting sponsor, Woodie's Wash Shack, for their generous support - and for making the event extra fun for our Sparky Sprinters with a misting tunnel!
To our event sponsors - Northeast Orthodontics, Pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists, St Petersburg Oral Surgery and Dental Implants, Florida Blue Health, Amani HR, St. Anthony's Hospital, One Connect, Levitt and Prasatthong D.D.S. PA, and Bayfront Health - and all of our Health & Wellness Fair participants, thank you for making Shorecrest history!
