Contributing Chargers: Crown Automotive Charities
Shorecrest’s Mission is augmented by the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends who support the school philanthropically or by effecting change locally, globally or right here at Shorecrest. We call these community members Contributing Chargers.
Crown Automotive Charities was thrilled to support Shorecrest as this year’s Valet Sponsor of the Shorecrest Gala presented by American Integrity Insurance Group. Dwayne Hawkins, the founder and CEO of Crown Automotive Group, and his team have always been committed to giving back to the community, and this event was no exception.
Crown Automotive Charities conducts automobile-related work and also actively supports several community organizations financially and through time commitments. Crown Automotive Charities has a long-standing history of supporting several local, charitable organizations such as Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, Pinellas Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Feeding Children Everywhere, St. Pete Free Clinic, and many more. They have always been committed to giving back to the community and helping organizations that align with their mission. They take pride in their support of Shorecrest, contributing to the school's enduring legacy and enabling it to uphold its commitment to providing students with high-quality education.
We asked Crown Automotive Charities to share why they find it important to give back to Shorecrest by way of corporate sponsorship and philanthropy:
“Crown Automotive Charities continues a philanthropic vision begun by Dwayne Hawkins, founder and CEO of Crown Automotive Group. Being charitable was very important to him, but it was not about leaving a legacy behind. Dwayne understood the importance of a quality education and today we continue to support educational opportunities throughout our community.
Whitney Hawkins Goodman, granddaughter of Crown founder Dwayne Hawkins, attended Shorecrest from 1993 - 1994 for preschool. Unfortunately a move caused a change in schools, but we are very familiar with Shorecrest from living in St. Petersburg for many years and having friends at the school. Whitney now lives in St. Petersburg and has a 2-year-old son who attends Wonder Studio at Shorecrest. We are very happy to be able to support the Shorecrest Gala. Thank you for this opportunity. Congratulations on 100 years!”
