Softball Weekly Update

Shorecrest Chargers Middle School Softball vs. Academy of Holy Names: 9-4 Win!
It was a great team win in the final game of the season for Chargers Middle School Softball. They jumped out to a 3-run lead and continued to build on it behind awesome pitching from Paige C. '29, solid fielding and hitting from captain Lauren S. '29 and fine catching from Maelle G. '30. Lauren S. '29 had 6 awesome put outs and catches. Paige C. '29 had 9 strikeouts.

Varsity Softball vs. Largo High: 10-6 Win!
The Varsity Softball Chargers took on Largo High at home wrapping up the season series. They played on back-to-back days after beating Boca Ciega. Sammy Beltran '25 struck out 9 and then got the win. The Chargers tallied 11 hits including two by Senior Captain Libby Cenedella '24. Bobbie Strus '27, Libby Cenedella '24, and Sammy Beltran '25 each drove in 2 runs. Riley J. '28 hit a triple as the Chargers took a 7-2 lead in 4th.

Varsity Softball vs. Bradenton Christian: 5-8 Loss.
Chargers Varsity Softball rolled to district rival Bradenton Christian. The Chargers outhit Bradenton, tallying 11. Sonia Anderson '26, Georgia S. '30, Riley J. '28, and Lexi L. '28 each got two hits for the Chargers. After going down 4-0, the Chargers tied the game up in the 2nd on a double by Lauren S. '29. Sammy Beltran '25 pitched well and kept Bradenton off balance the entire game (two earned runs, six strike outs). "The Chargers are showing improvement and growing as a team," said Coach Fludd.

Varsity Softball vs. Seminole High School: 3-13 Loss.
