Welcome Dr. Jennifer Hart, US Learning Specialist

Upper School News Faculty Spotlight


As the Upper School Learning Specialist in Shorecrest's Center for Academic Excellence, Dr. Jennifer Hart is looking forward to partnering with faculty to support the learning needs of all Shorecrest students.

Dr. Hart has a B.S. and M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education and a Ph.D. in Special Education; all earned from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Hart is a ‘Highly Qualified’ State of Nevada licensed teacher and a certified primary Montessori teacher. Her experience includes preparing inclusive learning environments within public and private schools as well as lecturing on a rich array of education and special education topics at universities and colleges within the United States and Australia.

Recognizing the deep connection between health and wellbeing and academic performance, Dr. Hart’s overall approach nurtures the intellect, creativity, empathy, and curiosity of each student, preparing them not only for academic success but also for a life filled with meaning, purpose, and a profound understanding of the world around them.

When not at Shorecrest, Dr. Hart can usually be found at the Weedon Island Preserve parkrun on Saturday mornings. Contributing to the health and wellbeing of St. Pete's community, the Hart family coordinates this free 5K walk/run international event weekly – visit parkrun.com for details. Dr. Hart is a very proud parent of two Chargers, Ellis '24, and Josilynn '25.
