MS Pumpkin Painting Contest Winners!

Arts Middle School News

The 2nd Annual Hess Library Pumpkin Painting Contest for Middle School students was a delightful event that took place fall 2023. Chargers in grades 5-8 showcased their creativity and love for reading by painting pumpkins with their favorite book or book character.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Giroud, MS & US Media & Information Technology Specialist, students gathered in the Hess Library & Makerspace for this exciting activity. They selected their cherished book or book character to feature on their chosen pumpkin. A planning session was held during Study Hall on Wednesday, October 11, where participants had the opportunity to gather ideas and plan their designs. Pumpkins and painting supplies were provided free to all contestants, though students had the option of using their own pumpkins.

This enjoyable activity culminated with the judging phase that occurred in the Hess Library from October 24-26. Throughout the week, students and staff had the opportunity to vote for the most creatively designed character or book representation. After the judging period concluded, contestants were able to take their pumpkins home.

The eagerly anticipated announcement of the contest winners took place on Monday, October 30, marking the end of this fun and artistic event. Congratulations to all the participants for their creativity and enthusiasm!
