Mystery Solution

Middle School News

Eighth graders completed a mystery solutions activity using their bluetooth sensors.  Their goal was to identify the type of water based on the salinity reading. Once they determined which water was which (ocean, brackish, fresh, reverse osmosis), they created salinity layers by adding the substances in the correct order. This activity should help them understand how tidal changes in natural environments such as the channel north of school can affect salinity measurements as well as the organisms living in the area.
