Chargers Swimming competes in Relay Meets

Shorecrest Chargers Middle School Girls and Boys Swimming competed in a Relay/Sprint meet vs. Tampa Prep, Academy at the Lakes, Berkeley Prep, Canterbury, Keswick Christian and Admiral Farragut. The boys team earned 1st place with 239 points, and the girls placed 3rd with 118 points.

The boys 200 Medley Relay & 400 Relay both placed first. The girls 200 Free Relay placed first.

Boys who won events included:
Steele G. '30 (100 Free), Jack D. '28 (100 IM & 50 Back), Leonardo H. '28 (50 Free & 50 Fly), Milan S. '28 (50 Breast). Leonardo H. '28 also broke the Shorecrest MD 50 Fly record!

Coach Patty said, "Great job by the Chargers Middle School squad. Most impressive was that there were only 4 girls competing and they still placed 3rd!"

The Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Girls and Boys Swimming also had a relay meet against multiple schools. The girls placed 5th and the boys placed 4th.

"This fun event was primarily for cheering and building team spirit," Coach Patty explained. "The team enjoyed the meet and placed very well out of the 12-15 teams entered."

The Varsity Girls and Boys Swimming & Diving team competed vs. Academy at the Lakes and Out of Door Academy.
Girls: Shorecrest 84 Out of Door 83; Shorecrest 94,Academy at the Lakes 94.
Boys: Shorecrest 117, Out of Door 52; Shorecrest 106, Academy at the Lakes 69.   

The girls team won very close meets with contributions from everyone on the team.  The boys only won two events overall but the depth of the team is what carried them to victory!

Izzy Riva '27 won 50 & 100 Free, Sasha Schratwieser '24 won 100 Fly, Kate Rutledge '24 won 500 Free, Evelyn G. '28 won diving.

Maddox Matyas '26 won 100 Back, Aziz T. '28 won diving.
